The Community Mental Health Activity commenced on 1 July 2014. Prior to this, community-based mental health services were funded through the Targeted Community Care Program.
Under this Activity, eligible organisations are funded to provide:
early intervention support to vulnerable families with children and young people who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing, mental illness
support for young people with mental illness to achieve and maintain participation in education and/or employment
support for carers of people with mental illness who have employment as a primary goal, and
support for the recovery of people with mental illness that includes drug and alcohol use disorders and/or gambling disorders.
