What’s in the toolkit

Finding government data about communities can take a lot of time. This toolkit makes it easier to find and use community data. It helps you learn what is happening in a local area.

You can get or ask for data from Australian Government agencies. It does not include data from state or territory governments.

How community-level data can help you

Community data can help you to:

  • understand your local area
  • see where action is needed most
  • track the difference your work is making
  • make decisions using facts
  • compare different communities
  • build stronger relationships with communities.
