Seminars

The NCLD is passionate about longitudinal data and sharing the research results of its survey data. Seminars are one way the NCLD is sharing this passion amongst researchers, policy makers and analysts.

The first NCLD seminar, “Evidence for Social Policy” was held on Thursday, 26 November 2015.  The presentations included:

  • The importance of engaging Indigenous children in early childhood education and care Dr Nicholas Biddle, Fellow, National Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research
  • Predictors for a positive start for Indigenous children— Fiona Skelton, Assistant Director, NCLD
  • What we know about partner violence from the longitudinal studies of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous children — Laura Bennetts-Kneebone, Assistant Director, NCLD.

Adam Rowland, Executive Manager, NCLD, also facilitated a panel discussion between the presenters and the audience.

Panellists (R to L) Dr Nicholas Biddle (NCAEPR, ANU), Fiona Skelton (NCLD), Laura Bennetts-Kneebone (NCLD) answered questions from the floor at the “Evidence for Social Policy” seminar.
