About the data we collect
Disability Employment Services (DES) data captures a range of information about program participants. We get this data through our IT systems.
We collect data about:
- activities
- events
- demographics
- other available information.
This data has been de-identified. This means we have taken steps to make sure no one can be identified through the personal, health or disability information we collect.
Reports
We publish DES reports on data.gov.au(Opens external website). You can search for ‘Disability Employment Services’ or go directly to the data and reports from here.
Monthly profile
This report contains key program data for the DES program. It includes the Disability Management Service (DMS) and Employment Support Service (ESS).
The report provides aggregated data on:
- referrals
- commencements
- exits
- caseload
- program outcomes for the last five years.

Targeted Compliance Framework
This report contains information about the Targeted Compliance Framework (TCF), as it applies to program participants.
The TCF relates to participants on the income support payment who need to meet mutual obligations requirements.
Outcome rates by disability type
This report provides information about the performance of DES providers in each Employment Services Area by primary disability groupings. It aims to help people with disability, family, carers or others choose a DES provider.
Caseload and commencements data
This report contains DES commencement and caseload data by geographic regions.
It includes caseload and initial commencement data by:
- participant demographics
- program type
- Labour Market Region (LMR)
- Employment Service Area (ESA)
- participant postcode.
Employment Service Areas since 2013
An Employment Service Area (ESA) is a defined geographic area used for administering DES.
