National Family and Domestic Violence Risk Assessment Framework

The National Family and Domestic Violence Risk Assessment Framework sets up an approach to assess and manage family and domestic violence (FDV) risk. It provides a nationally consistent best practice approach that has been informed by evidence. This will support frontline workers to identify, assess and respond to FDV.

The framework will enable patterns of coercive control and escalating harm to be picked up earlier. It will also support:

• more consistent responses across services and jurisdictions
• stronger coordination between agencies
• better support for victim-survivors, including children and young people.

All Australian governments are working together to embed the Framework.
