The Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Advisory Council will work with the Australian Government to end violence towards women and children.
It will focus on the development, implementation and monitoring of action plans under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022–2032 (National Plan). It will play an important role in shaping the Second Action Plan under the National Plan.
The council’s members bring a wide range of expertise from across the sector, academia, communities and people with lived experience. They will provide advice on emerging issues, priorities and evidence. They will seek opportunities to strengthen national efforts to prevent and respond to violence.
The council is chaired by Minister for Social Services, the Hon Tanya Plibersek MP.
