Activity details

This research project worked to build the eSafety Commissioner's (eSafety's) understanding and evidence base on how best to support young men in online spaces. The project aims to embed this knowledge throughout the eSafety suite of resources for young people, parents and educators. The research is made up of 2 parts: a qualitative study into the online experiences of young men and an engagement with experts on young men and healthy masculinities.

Implementation progress update

In June 2024, eSafety published research it commissioned on the online experiences of young men and what influences, motivates, shapes and informs their experiences. For more information, including the research, see Young men online.

In February 2025, eSafety published the second part of this research, based on interviews and workshops with expert practitioners who work with young men on the topic of healthy, positive masculinities and manhood. The research report includes details on the key findings and how eSafety is responding to the implications of the research. For more information, including the research, see Supporting young men online
