This activity is part of a broader activity to ensure victim-survivors are well supported to access recovery services.

Implementation progress update

On 18 March 2024, the Women's Trauma Recovery Centre (the Centre) commenced partial service delivery. On 6 September 2024, the Centre officially opened.

In May 2024, Minister for Health and Ageing agreed to the following:

  • Extension of the activity timing (now ceasing on 30 June 2029).
  • Conducting an independent evaluation of the program over 3 years from 2024-25 to 2026 27.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is now working to execute these processes.
