Victoria’s Free from Violence: Second Action Plan (2022–2025) which provides the foundation for emerging priorities including preventing sexual violence, community education about affirmative consent, engaging boys and men in prevention, and scaling up work in key settings such as local government, universities and TAFEs, and sport settings.

This activity is part of a broader activity to support primary prevention initiatives in key settings and across pivotal life stages.

Implementation progress update

Nearly all deliverables under the Free from violence: Second Action Plan 2022-2025 are on track or have been delivered.

In 2024-25, the Victorian Government delivered 14 primary prevention grant programs, totalling 106 individual projects and initiatives across a range of key settings, in partnership with community organisations. This includes dedicated primary prevention grants programs in sporting, local government and early childhood settings. It also includes targeted projects that address the drivers of family and sexual violence within multicultural, disability and LGBTIQA+ communities.
