Activity details
The National Framework for Action to Prevent Alcohol-related Family Violence (the framework) was developed by the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) in 2015.
$1 million over two years from 2025-26 is being provided to FARE to review and update the framework, with consideration of real and tangible impacts on preventing and reducing alcohol-related family violence.
Implementation progress update
The planning phase of the project has commenced and is on track. FARE has established a Framework Advisory Committee to guide the development of the Framework. Membership includes Government representation, family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) advocates and researchers, and individuals with lived experience.
A project plan will be provided to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing shortly. The final framework is expected to be delivered in 2027.
For more information on the framework see National framework for action to prevent alcohol-related family violence.
