Activity details

The updated South Australia Police Domestic Abuse Strategy 2025-2026 realigns corporate goals and priorities with relevant and significant emerging State and Commonwealth government strategies, legislation and initiatives. It provides a renewed and strengthened commitment to preventing domestic abuse, supporting victims, strengthening offender accountability and working collaboratively with other service providers. The shorter term of the updated strategy will allow for outcomes and recommendations from the recently concluded (South Australian) Royal Commission into Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence to be incorporated into future versions of the SAPOL Domestic Abuse Strategy.

Implementation progress update

The updated strategy contains 5 Strategic Priority Areas - Prevention, Early intervention, Response, Recovery and healing, and Education, training and service delivery. Each Priority Area has an objective and a number of strategies to achieve that objective. The updated strategy provides guidance and direction about what aspects SAPOL will focus on over the next 2 years to achieve the best service possible in this complex field of policing.
