Activity details
Develop and trial a domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) co-responder model within NT Police.
Implementation progress update
The DSFV Co-responder program in Alice Springs became fully operational in April 2025 following delays due to significant recruitment challenges. The co-responder model is an integrated approach where police, and specialist services work together to respond to victim survivors and people who have committed violence. Operational Guidelines have been developed and endorsed by participating agencies. The second co-responder model site in Palmerston has now commenced with 2 NGO specialist workers for victim survivors and people using violence engaged in June 2025. Further recruitment for Police is underway, with staff being redirected to support commencement.
