Activity details

Supporting young people aged 15-19 who are at risk of being or are homeless where the young person is also a victim-survivor of family violence.

This activity is part of a broader activity to address gaps in the service system through tailored supports to adolescents experiencing family violence or using violence.

Implementation progress update

Two services, Meli and Melbourne City Mission, were selected to develop and test a family violence case management responses model for young people in a youth homelessness setting. Both services are providing direct case management support to young people who are at risk of being or are homeless, where the young person is also a victim-survivor of family violence. The program embeds family violence practitioners and youth family violence peer workers within MCM’s homelessness services and provides youth-specific family violence case management to teenagers 15-19 escaping family violence. The assessed risk of significant harm or death determines eligibility.

In June 2025, RMIT University's Centre for Innovative Justice released an Evaluation of Melbourne City Mission's Amplify Program.
