Delivering the Strengthening Cultural Safety in The Orange Door project which aims to support the delivery of a culturally safe environment for Aboriginal peoples seeking services, and the Aboriginal workforce, through sustainable and locally driven implementation of a Cultural Safety Assessment and Action Plan.
This activity is part of a broader activity to work in partnership with Aboriginal communities and Aboriginal services to ensure Aboriginal peoples, families and communities are stronger, safer, thriving and living free from family violence.
Implementation progress update
Strengthening Cultural Safety in The Orange Door is continuing to be implemented in all 18 primary Orange Door sites across the state with an extension of the project until 31 March 2026. The program involves assessments of cultural safety, the development of targeted action plans, and training to support staff cultural capability. This is undertaken through a partnerships approach with Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations.
