Activity details

Provide statewide risk identification, assessment, and safety planning training to the South Australian government and non-government workforce providing multi-agency risk mitigation to high-risk victims of domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) through the Family Safety Framework (FSF).

Implementation progress update

The FSF is the South Australian Government's coordinated service response to DFSV. The FSF was implemented state-wide in November 2013.

The objective of the FSF is to ensure that responses for families most at risk of DFSV are provided in a more structured and systematic way. This is done through agencies sharing information through Family Safety Meetings about high-risk families to create action plans to support their navigation of available services.

For more information see Office for Women - Family Safety Framework.

Over 2024-25, the Office for Women SA have worked in partnership with Women’s Safety Services SA (WSSSA), where WSSSA have designed and delivered in-person and online training on FDSV and the Family Safety Framework. Training was delivered to SA practitioners who respond to DFSV on risk assessment, safety management, and understanding of the FSF. In addition, training was delivered to FSF Representatives on the topic of advanced risk management and collaborative responses.
