Activity details
Develop a state-wide network of perpetrator intervention programs which will include:
- a diversity of perpetrator interventions across a continuum of risk and need;
- perpetrator programs specifically tailored to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; and
- an intersectional approach that meets the needs of people with disability, young people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people who identify at LGTBIQA+ in urban, rural, regional and remote locations.
Implementation progress update
Work has started to design and implement a number of trials to inform the establishment of a state-wide network of persons using violence interventions, build the evidence base of what works to hold people who use violence to account and change their behaviour, and ensure victim-survivor safety.
The state-wide network will make available a diversity of interventions across a continuum of risk and need. A number of trials specifically designed to meet the needs of persons using violence from diverse cohorts have begun, including people who are culturally and linguistically diverse, have disability, identify as LGBTIQA+ and young people. A number of other trials are also underway, including a brief intervention trial, an online intervention trial and a trial to partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a community-led project to design and pilot programs for persons using violence.
