$1.25 million for the to expand the Safer Girls Safer Women Project to support women, girls and gender diverse people with disability, through implementing best practice guidelines and learning resources and tools for workplaces for sexual health respectful relationships and consent education.
Implementation progress update
An extension of previous funding for 2 years (June 2024 - June 2026) was provided to Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT to expand the Safer Me Safer You project (formerly Safer Girls Safer Women). This initiative supports women, girls and gender diverse people with disability by promoting inclusive and respectful workplace practices.
The project focuses on:
- Implementing best practice guidelines to support Australian workplaces in responding to the needs of employees with disability who may be impacted by sexual violence or require education around respectful relationships and consent.
- Developing learning resources and tools for employers to build capability in providing safe, inclusive and supportive environments for people with disability.
This work contributes to broader national efforts to prevent violence and promote respectful relationships through tailored, intersectional approaches.
