Activity details

Trialling the 'Safe at Home' program delivered by McAuley Services and Meli in Geelong.

The program is designed to increase opportunities for women and children to remain in their home when they want to.

Implementation progress update

The 'Safe at Home' program provides case management and trauma counselling support for the victim-survivors, case management for the perpetrator to keep them in view and address their support needs, and crisis brokerage for alternative short-term accommodation for the perpetrator. This approach removes the burden to leave from the victim survivor, enabling them to safely maintain community connections, employment and education and avoid homelessness.

Service delivery began in May 2025, with the trial due to run for three years.
