Activity details
Deliver a recovery and healing program which recognises children and young people as victim-survivors in their own right. The program is delivered in partnership by Relationships Australia SA, Women's Safety Services SA and the Legal Services Commission of South Australia who utilise a integrated practice model that ensures a coordinated and collaborative approach to family support.
Implementation progress update
Delivering integrated services and supports since 2021, the Safe and Well Kids program is targeted to women and their children aged 0 to 18 years who are impacted by family, domestic and sexual violence by delivering services that promote safety, stability and recovery. Services and supports include a focus on the needs of children, the caregiving relationship, improved family functioning, legal information and advice, and case management.
Delivered in partnership by Relationships Australia SA, Women’s Safety Services SA and the Legal Services Commission of South Australia, services are committed to collaboration underpinned by ongoing relationship building, joint learning and continuous improvement.
A unique element of the program is therapeutic interventions. Children and their mother/caregivers are given the opportunity to engage in therapy to understand the trauma related to the impact of domestic and family violence and improve their social and emotional health through strengthening bonds. The program is extended to 30 June 2027.
