Activity details
Deliver a recovery and healing focused initiative that provides services and supports to women, accompanied by their children, as they transition from specialist family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) crisis accommodation to long-term housing that is safe and secure. The initiative recognises and responds to the relationship between homelessness for women and children, and FDVS.
Implementation progress update
Delivered since 2021 by Neami National, the Safe and Secure Housing Program supports women impacted by family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) to make informed choices and navigate complex and competitive housing systems to secure longer term, safe and stable housing outcomes for themselves and children.
Using a collaborative, person-centred, strengths-based recovery approach, the program works with women to identify and achieve their broader life goals, whilst providing advocacy and support as they transition from specialist crisis FDSV accommodation into long term accommodation.
The program is extended to 30 June 2027. For more information see Safe and Secure Housing Program.
