Activity details
Government has invested $2.8 million for the development of a National Model of Care (NMoC) to better meet the needs of children and young people in crisis accommodation settings, who are victim-survivors of family, domestic and/or sexual violence.
Implementation progress update
The Department of Social Services has engaged Nous Group, through a competitive tender, to develop a NMoC.
Nous Group has engaged with a broad range of stakeholders over the past 12 months including Commonwealth agencies, state and territory departments (representing family, domestic and sexual violence, children and families and housing), service providers, academics, and state, territory and national peak bodies.
Place-based engagement will be undertaken in the second half of 2025 with children and young people, victim-survivors and their families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, communities and victim-survivors, and other priority populations.
The NMoC and its Implementation Plan are scheduled to be delivered in early 2026.
