Work together to deliver high quality, age appropriate, evidence-based Respectful Relationships Education in Australian schools.

Implementation progress update

All state and territory Education Ministers have signed the $77.6 million Consent and Respectful Relationships Education (CRRE) Federation Funding Agreement Schedule. To view the Schedule see Consent and Respectful Relationships Education | Federal Financial Relations.

First and second year funding (2023-24 and 2024-25) totalling $40.8 million has been paid to states and territories.

The 2024 Annual Report and Final Implementation Plans were approved in April 2025. Activities are underway for all jurisdictions. Activities include employing specialist staff with expertise in respectful relationships education and delivering professional development activities.

Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre's (Monash's) rapid review on the delivery of RRE in Australian schools was completed in October 2023. Monash has supported development of an RRE Framework in consultation with the National RRE Expert Working Group (NRREEWG) and other stakeholders. The Framework is expected to be published in 2025 and will provide guidance for RRE decision makers across Australia's school system on high-quality and evidence-based RRE.

The NRREEWG is overseeing implementation of the CRRE Measure and has met 12 times from June 2023 to June 2025.
