Implementation progress update
The Tasmanian Government Family Violence Rapid Rehousing program for people affected by family violence was expanded from 50 homes to 150 homes under a 2024 State Election Commitment. Victim-survivors and perpetrators are eligible for the program which provides affordable private rental accommodation.
Through a 2024 Tasmanian Government Election Commitment, Homes Tasmania improved incentives for a two-year period from 2024 to 2026 for private property owners to help increase the availability of affordable rental properties. Expressions of interest remain open for housing that is close to major urban centres, transport services and amenities.
