Continue to implement Queensland’s Framework for Action: Reshaping our approach to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander domestic and family violence.
Implementation progress update
A new Domestic and Family Violence Reform Strategy is being developed which will acknowledge the importance of First Nations led approaches to responding to domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV), working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, families and communities to address the causes, prevalence and impacts of DFSV. The Strategy will reset the Queensland Government's direction for DFSV reform over the next ten years to deliver whole of community responses, integrated services, equitable service access statewide and a quality data and system performance approach.
The First Nations Primary Prevention Group will also play an important role in bolstering the safety of victims and driving perpetrator accountability reforms to ensure they are culturally safe and meet the needs of First Nations peoples.
