Activity details
Providing $0.9 million for continuing professional development (CPD) training for legal practitioners on coercive control.
This activity is part of a broader activity to embed trauma-informed and culturally safe response models to support victims and survivors through the family court and justice systems.
Implementation progress update
A grant agreement has now been executed with National Legal Aid, in a consortium arrangement with Women’s Legal Service Victoria and the First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence, to develop CPD training on coercive control for legal practitioners. Work under the grant arrangement is underway and the training is expected to be completed in mid-2026.
