Our Watch

Under 5 Commonwealth-funded grants, Our Watch is delivering a range of primary prevention initiatives aimed at addressing the drivers of gender-based violence, these are: 

• Campaign content development: Ongoing creation of evidence-based content for The Line and Change the Story campaigns, targeting social and other media platforms to promote gender equality and respectful relationships.
• Training delivery: Development and delivery of training to prevent sexual harassment and promote respectful relationships across all settings—where Australians live, work, learn, socialise and play.
• Sector capacity building: Supporting the prevention workforce, including media professionals, through training and resources to strengthen reporting and engagement on gender-based violence.
• National Coordination for Primary Prevention Sector: Coordinate national roundtables and publish annual reports to translate emerging evidence into actionable guidance for governments, businesses and community organisations working in primary prevention.
• Innovation with priority cohorts: Co-design and pilot prevention initiatives with priority cohorts—including LGBTIQA+ communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls, and people with disability—to strengthen intersectional approaches and drive innovation in emerging settings.

Our Watch provides free, publicly available resources to support primary prevention efforts across sport, business, media and the broader community gender-based violence.
