Activity details
The Collaborative Intervention Partnership (CIP) delivers earlier intervention supports to men who are remanded and then post-release. This enables earlier responses and community support on exit.
A commensurate response for victim survivors will be implemented. This program will aim to support safety and respond to risks while men engage in behaviour change programs.
Implementation progress update
Beginning in May 2023, the program delivered by OARS CT under the CIP provides group sessions to males who have used domestic, family and sexual violence and are remanded in custody and then post-release for ongoing engagement and transition into the community. The program provides a voluntary, short-term group program that supports men to reflect on their behaviour, understand the impact of their actions on victim survivors, and begin the process of behaviour change.
The program has been extended to 30 June 2027. For more information see Offenders Aid And Rehabilitation Services Of South Australia.
Women's Safety Services SA delivers the Women's Safety Contact Program to victim survivors who partners are engaged in a men's behaviour change program. The program engages in assertive outreach, safety planning, provision of a case work response, and provide child focused support. The service works in partnership with men's behaviour change programs to support transparency and accountability.
