Activity details
Establish 2 new metropolitan domestic violence prevention and recovery hubs to support and empower women experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) as well as help to increase community awareness.
Implementation progress update
The Domestic Violence Prevention and Recovery Hubs (Hubs) in the south and the north of Adelaide have been established.
The Hubs aim to improve early intervention and recovery responses through increased local access to support, information, referrals, and facilitated pathways for women and their children experiencing DFSV.
The Southern Hub, called the Yellow Gate, launched on 1 December 2023. The Southern Hub brings together local supports and services in a safe and accessible space where women can drop-in and access support, information, and referrals.
The Southern Hub is led by Community Justice Services and co-located services at the Southern Hub include Cedar Domestic and Family Violence Health Services and Yarrow Place Rape and Sexual Assault Service.
The Northern Hub, launched in May 2024, increases collaborative and coordinated safety responses for women through integrated service delivery between SA Police and Women’s Safety Services SA. Outreach services are provided at the Northern Hub by the Legal Services Commission and a Centrelink officer works from the Northern Hub once a week.
The Hubs will receive an additional $2m over 2 years (2025-27) to ensure the continuation and expansion of their critical services.
