Establish a National Student Ombudsman to deal with higher education student complaints, including complaints about gender-based violence.

Implementation progress update

The National Student Ombudsman commenced on 1 February 2025.

In its first 6 months of operation, the National Student Ombudsman received 2,200 contacts, resulting in 1,800 formal complaints. More than half of these have already been resolved.
