Activity details

Youth Justice NSW will, in addition to mainstream interventions for young people using or experiencing violence in the home, continue to deliver My Journey My Life and My Journey My Life (Yinnar) to young Aboriginal men and young Aboriginal women, respectively, who use violence in their interpersonal relationships.

This activity is part of broader activity to provide coordinated and culturally appropriate support for young people interacting with the youth justice system who are using, experiencing, or at risk of using or experiencing domestic and family violence.

Implementation progress update

My Journey My Life and My Journey My Life (Yinnar) continue to be used by Youth Justice NSW across community and custodial settings with Aboriginal boys and young men and Aboriginal girls and young women respectively to provide culturally appropriate support to young people using and at risk of using violence in the home. Training and implementation support has also been provided to Youth on Track service providers to utilise the programs with young people. To further improve utilisation of the programs additional post training implementation support is now being provided to embed the delivery of these programs into caseworkers practice regardless of setting.
