Activity details
Men’s Referral Service provides early intervention and rehabilitative support to perpetrators of family violence.
Implementation progress update
The Men's Referral Service operated by No to Violence continues to deliver counselling, information and referral service for men who use violence and abuse to change their behaviour. The MRS delivers single-session rehabilitative services to Tasmanian family violence perpetrators, through direct contact and referrals from Tasmania Police.
Men's Referral Service Early Intervention Response provides direct contact with perpetrators referred through police-recorded family violence incidents. This voluntary service involves cold-calling perpetrators to discuss their behaviour and offer information including referrals to support services. In addition, self-referrals by men seeking to address their behaviour continue to be a significant part of the service engagement.
