Implementation progress update
The Family Violence Offender Intervention Program (FVOIP) is designed for people that have a history of family violence offences, are assessed as being at a high or extreme risk of re-offending, and have been sentenced by a Magistrate to attend. People sentenced to take part in the program may be breached and their sentence reconsidered by a Magistrate if they do not participate in accordance with the program requirements.
For more information see Family Violence Offender Intervention Program | Community Corrections.
Community Corrections is building capabilities to address offending behaviour by:
- establishing a new statewide Assessment and Interventions Team to strengthen the capacity to manage complex and high-risk offenders in the community; and
- facilitating an intensive five-day training workshop led by Liam E Marshall, PhD, internationally renowned offender intervention expert and developer of the Rockwood Sex Offender Treatment Program.
