Activity details

The Local Support Coordinator (LSC) program supports women in the ACT who have experienced family and domestic violence to navigate complex service systems by connecting them to the support services they need, including counselling, crisis accommodation, financial assistance or health and legal services. The program also offers brokerage funding to purchase goods and services for victim-survivors to meet immediate recovery needs.

Implementation progress update

Since the LSC program commenced in 2015-16, the Australian Government has committed $11.90 million in funding.

The Government originally funded the LSC program in all states and territories to test how a coordination model would work. A number of states and territories now have state-wide coordination systems in place, making the LSC model outdated in most states and territories. The ACT is now the only state or territory with a Commonwealth grant for this program.

Since the program's inception in 2015, to 30 June 2025 (the most recent and complete reporting period) 4,100 women and their children have been supported across Australia.
