Activity details
Deliver the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum (KS:CPC). This provides the foundational and fundamental skills for children and young people to recognise abuse and report it. KS:CPC includes all the concepts that children and young people need to know to be able to understand, recognise, and respond to all forms of abuse including gender-based violence.
Implementation progress update
As per the Department for Education's (department) Safeguarding children and young people policy it is a requirement that all children and young people in department preschools and schools will access the KS:CPC each year. They must also be taught by educators who are trained in its use. For more information about the policy see Safeguarding children and young people policy.
The KS:CPC supports children and young people to understand their rights, recognise abuse and unsafe situations, develop and apply strategies to help keep themselves safe, and seek support. For more information about the KS:CPC see Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum information for parents and carers.
For more information on the KS:CPC, see related activity 'Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum - recognise workplace sexual harassment'.
