Delivery of a Justice Navigator pilot to support victim survivors of sexual assault.
Justice Navigators will be embedded in Victoria specialist sexual assault services and will support victim survivors to understand and exercise their rights and help them navigate the various support, compensation, recovery and justice options available to them.
The Justice Navigator pilot will be designed, trialled and independently evaluated over a 3-year period.
Implementation progress update
The Victorian Government, in partnership with Sexual Assault Services Victoria, has commenced consultation and co-design of the Justice Navigator initiative. A broad range of stakeholders are taking part in these sessions, including:
- victim survivors of sexual violence
- specialist sexual assault services
- Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations
- legal professionals, and
- Government agencies.
These roles will commence in late 2025. Work is currently ongoing to develop the program evaluation process.
