Activity details
Introduce legislation to criminalise coercive control to prevent and end this form of gender-based violence. Introduction and implementation of this legislation will seek to broaden community understanding of coercive control.
Implementation progress update
The Criminal Law Consolidation (Coercive Control) Amendment Bill 2024 was introduced into Parliament in August 2024. It passed the House of Assembly on 12 November 2024 and is awaiting debate in the Legislative Council.
