Youth Justice NSW continue to build workforce capability to deliver this intervention which builds on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
This activity is part of a broader activity to develop, deliver, and evaluate targeted responses to young people who use violence.
Implementation progress update
Safe Space is a Youth Justice NSW treatment program for young people who use violence in a domestic or family setting.
The program was developed in recognition that the overwhelming majority of young people who use violence in the home have been victims and/or witnesses of domestic or family violence themselves.
Safe Space acknowledges this duality. It is evidence-based and trauma-informed and is currently being trained across Youth Justice NSW following its evaluation by Youth Justice NSW.
