Implementation progress update

Crisis accommodation for victim-survivors of family and domestic violence.

Since 2017, crisis accommodation capacity for victim-survivors of family and domestic violence has increased by 40 per cent. Building on this, further 88 accommodation rooms or units are to be delivered over the next 4 years. Over the last 2 years, this has included:

  • the opening of 2 new refuges in the Perth metropolitan (Zonta and Ruah Community Services)
  • continued funding for Munda Mia, a therapeutic intervention for women escaping violence with co-occurring alcohol and other drug issues
  • establishment of two new regional refuges in Katanning and Leonora, and
  • the expansion of a number of existing refuges.

All organisations providing refuge and safe houses services have also been supported through a funding uplift.
