Provide an innovative approach to improve awareness, knowledge, and responses addressing abuse of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) women and children. Through development and delivery of an evidence-based national training package and guidance on family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) within CALD communities. That targets faith-based and community leaders to enable leaders to better engage with and foster discussions of FDSV or suspected FDSV in their communities and to facilitate access to FDSV supports. 

Implementation progress update

This project will develop and deliver a national training package to help faith and community leaders better understand and FDSV affecting women and children from CALD backgrounds.

The training will be based on evidence and tailored to the needs of CALD communities. It will support leaders to:

  • Recognise signs of FDSV or suspected abuse
  • Start safe and informed conversations within their communities
  • Connect individuals to appropriate support services.

The project aims to improve awareness, build knowledge, and strengthen community responses to FDSV in CALD settings.
