Activity details

Continue to implement coercive control reforms (including the coercive control offence and a definition of domestic abuse) by July 2024 in response to the legislative reform recommendations made by the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee on Coercive Control. The Coercive Control Implementation and Evaluation Taskforce oversees implementation in consultation with sector-specific reference groups. The Taskforce reports to the Attorney General each 6 months during implementation and yearly thereafter until the third statutory review.

Implementation progress update

The implementation of coercive control reforms have commenced and were supported by the Implementation and Evaluation Taskforce on Coercive Control. Implementation activities have been published in the reports of the Implementation and Evaluation Taskforce.
