Activity details

The Healthy Masculinities Trial and Evaluation (Healthy MaTE) provides funding of $3.5 million to 3 organisations and an evaluator. This funding is to trial, test and evaluate activities designed to encourage healthy expressions of masculinity and foster respectful relationships among school-aged young men and boys.

Implementation progress update

The Healthy MaTE is currently underway. Project activities commenced from early 2025.

Workshops are being delivered in select secondary school and community sports settings across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. These workshops aim to promote and empower school-aged boys and young men to build healthier forms of masculinity by promoting empathy, self-awareness, and respectful relationships with their peers.

Healthy MaTE is being independently evaluated, with the final evaluation report due mid-2026.
