Activity details
Continue to support the Health Justice Partnership Services to address the heightened risk of experiencing family and domestic violence by women and their children during pregnancy or early parenthood. The Services provide women with free and confidential legal advice by embedding lawyers in health care and family settings to reduce barriers to accessing legal services.
Implementation progress update
Funding for the Health Justice Partnerships (HJPs) is ongoing since 2021. Legal Aid and Women’s Legal Centre are currently contracted to deliver the HJPs until 30 June 2026. In January 2025, the ACT Government contracted Domestic Violence Crisis Service to develop and deliver the specialist family violence case management service at ACT child and family centres. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand for case management support at the Centres. DVCS case practitioners collaborate with legal partners, Centre case workers and other child and family development services. Further information is available at Health Justice Partnership Program - Women’s Legal Centre.
