Activity details
National Cabinet agreed to trial focused deterrence and Domestic Violence Threat Assessment Centre pilots. The pilots will strengthen system responses to high-risk and serial perpetrators of family and domestic violence. The Commonwealth Government committed $28.6 million over 4 years from 2024-25 to pilot these new innovative models, engaging both law enforcement and community services.
The Government is partnering with states and territories to design and implement the pilots.

The Attorney-General's Department is working with states and territories and non-government experts (including via public consultations) on pilot scope. Implementation activities are expected to start from late 2025, pending ongoing design work and jurisdictional negotiations on next steps, including identification of pilot sites.
