Activity details
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Education Program 'Raiise' aimed to shift attitudes and behaviours that drive violence against women and children. The campaign also featured a more targeted education program delivered through football clubs aimed at promoting the importance of gender equality within a sporting context.
Implementation progress update
The South Australian Government leveraged the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to establish the Raiise Respectful Club Environments Program (Raiise). Raiise was developed to highlight the importance of gender equality, challenge stereotypes in sporting environments, and empower participants to actively support others in promoting respectful behaviour.
Raiise reached 1,150 people across 50 sporting clubs between July 2023-June 2024.
An additional $175,000 was provided in the 2024-25 State Budget to extend the Raiise program. The second iteration of Raiise, the Gender Equality Action Plan program, is available for clubs that have completed the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Education Program. This program continues their gender equality initiatives through developing a Raiise Gender Equality Action Plan.
