Implementation progress update
Since the commencement of Foundational Family Violence Training (FFVT) in January 2019, training has been delivered to over 6,900 staff. It continues to be updated, including a new version for Corrections Victoria that commenced in 2025. In 2024-25, Foundational Family Violence Training was delivered to over 200 Youth Justice staff across community and custodial sectors. Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) Working with Victim Survivors Identification Training and Intermediate Risk Assessment and Risk Management has been delivered to over 600 Youth Justice staff since 1 July 2024.
Training teaches staff how to effectively identify and respond to family violence, is aligned to the Family Violence MARAM and includes a detailed list of family violence supports. It is business as usual for all new-starters in front-line roles, and the family violence prevention content is available to all Department of Justice and Community Safety Victoria staff in a separate eLearn.
