Activity details

$48.7 million to provide increased support for primary care to assist in the response to family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV). This includes $45.5 million for the implementation of the Supporting Primary Care Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Primary Health Network (PHN) Pilots to support people who have experienced family, domestic and sexual violence and/or child sexual abuse, to navigate the health system and access services in all states and territories.

This activity is part of a broader activity to ensure victim-survivors are well supported to access recovery services.

Implementation progress update

All PHN pilots are delivering activities to support the primary care response to victim survivors of FDSV. This includes:

  • Development and delivery of training to support primary care to recognise, respond and refer victim-survivors of FDSV including child sexual abuse.
  • Establishment of system navigators which support primary care to coordinate referrals to support services and act as conduits between primary care and specialist services to improve integration and coordination between the primary care and specialist service sectors.
