Strengthening Responses to Family and Domestic Violence System Reform Plan 2024 to 2029
The Strengthening Responses to Family and Domestic Violence System Reform Plan 2024 to 2029 (System Reform Plan), was publicly released on 26 April 2024 to strengthen responses to family and domestic violence in Western Australia. The System Reform Plan is a key outcome of the Family Domestic Violence Taskforce.

To support delivery of the System Reform Plan, the State Government has committed to:

• twice yearly public reporting on implementation progress
• commissioned an impact evaluation
• allocated more than $250 million in new funding to support implementation, including new or expanded frontline services.

The inaugural progress report on System Reform implementation was released in December 2024, covering the period of April to end October 2024. During this time, the implementation focused on establishing the foundations for the reform program. This includes governance, strong and collaborative partnerships and creating a plan for implementation of priority reform actions. The report highlighted that most reform projects were at planning or delivery stage. These projects include:

• commencing development of the Family and Domestic Violence Workforce Capability Framework
• designing a dedicated Family and Domestic Violence Workforce Entity
• redeveloping the Family and Domestic Violence Common Risk Assessment and Risk Management Framework
• developing a new Aboriginal Family Violence Risk Assessment Tool.
