Activity details
$1.5 million over 4 years to establish Independent Sexual Violence Advisors in the ACT to provide on-the-ground expert advocacy, system navigation, and linkages to services and supports for victim-survivors of sexual violence.
This activity is part of a broader activity to respond to the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Steering Committee’s final report Listen. Take Action to Prevent, Believe and Heal.
Implementation progress update
In 2024-25, Government funded the establishment of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) and in the first half of 2025, the ACT Government worked to establish a team of ISVAs in the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre. ISVAs support victim-survivors to navigate the sexual violence service system and support their safer access to services, including supporting informed participation in both legal and non-legal processes.
