Activity details
Establish a family and sexual violence liaison service within the Tasmanian Health Service to provide Family Violence Liaison Officers statewide to support clients experiencing family and sexual violence.
Implementation progress update
The Family and Sexual Violence Liaison Service will provide new Liaison Officers to the Tasmanian Health Service and Child Safety Service and incorporate the continuing Family Violence Liaison Officer to the Strong Families, Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line to strengthen responses to family and sexual violence and improve outcomes for victim‑survivors.
Supporting recruitment processes for the Family and Sexual Violence Liaison Service was a key focus, with recruitment commencing for 3 liaison positions dedicated to Child Safety Services. This aims to ensure continued integration of family and sexual violence support across key sectors. In addition, options are also being explored to strengthen the service within the Tasmanian Health Service.
