Electronic monitoring of high-risk family violence offenders.
Implementation progress update
Tasmania continues to experience an increase in the number of high-risk family violence offenders being electronically monitored, and high-risk family violence victim-survivors choosing to carry monitored duress alarms. This innovative program approach applies electronic monitoring at the front end, as a protective measure, rather than solely as a sentencing tool.
The numbers of monitored perpetrators and victim-survivors continues to steadily increase during 2024-25. Seventy-one perpetrators and 79 victim-survivors were monitored at 30 June 2025. Numbers increased between 30 June 2024 and 30 June 2025, with a 92 per cent increase in monitored perpetrators and a 41 per cent increase in victim-survivors.
